Updates
6th April 2025
You may have noticed the "studio" and "gear" sections disappearing, recently I've been wanting to make more tunes in the studio, but it's in such disarray I'm reconsidering things. I mentioned the S2800's screen in an earlier update, and not only is it an issue again with summer approaching, but it's getting worse. Also, with the spike in production last year, I'm finding myself needing to do things that I can't do (even trivial things like EQ!). And need we discuss the absolute spaghetti behind the desks?!
I had a chat with dad, and he figured that I'm a worker, not a fixer. He's right... I just want to make tunes and not worry about all this stuff! I just don't have the knowledge to fix my sampler, and with my new skills (and those bloody Zip disks) it's proving surplus to requirements. He helped me realize all of this after a nice discussion. In the coming months, the setup's going to be torn down, some gear sold and new gear acquired... my goal for the future is to be as practical as possible, so I can start making music again. Let's see what happens...
24th November 2024
The Hub screwed me over and I'm now in limbo again. I did enjoy it initially, and I learned so much about mixing and recording, albeit passively! But long story short, I got paid bugger all, things went nowhere and then a few months ago, he brought this other bloke in (when we agreed to be partners), then left me out and blamed us for some reason. I have no shame putting this here because it's well-deserved. Nuts to you lot, I'll just carry on strumming.
They were likely jealous of the theatre work I did at the beginning of the month, which I didn't even ask for, it just fell into our hands and I was delighted! There were lots of familiar faces and the production was about a topic very close to my heart. It's also the biggest thing I've ever been involved in. I was doing sound tech with my old pal Tom, who did the lights (I met him at Synthesized in 2019), and both shows sold out - and beyond... both nights around 200 people were coming, which was mind-blowing. They both paid off so well and I'll forever remember it as one of the best weeks this year!
In other news, I've updated the music section because I haven't touched it since 2022. Also, we have very, very big plans for the New Year, we're still in the discussion stage, but if it goes ahead it could be massive! Stay tuned!

Finally, I've altered this website so it displays properly on mobile phones! No more having to squint or zoom in. I'm quite pleased with the result! Also, a new section has been added where I talk about my favourite music ever! It might even help you discover some tunes you've never heard of...
31st May 2024
Big things have been happening! First and foremost, I went to an event yesterday that celebrated 15 years of Noise Solution. They're an organization that helped me throughout one of my toughest times (in Sixth Form) by letting me experiment with music, and just discussing it freely. We were invited to the event, and my sister got a ticket too, and so did my new friend at the Music Hub (more info-mation later)!
After an absolute trainwreck of a start (everyone hated them), I needed a breather... but when I got back, none other than Angie Brown was absolutely belting it, and I knew she was a good singer, but HOLY COW was that an incredible performance! She sung some awesome renditions of some classic tunes, and she brought back some 90's rave classics (another fellow Cambridge lad was having a right dance, he could only have been an OG raver!). I actually managed to speak to her, give her a hug and get my copy of "I'm Gonna Get You" signed! Yeah, that happened. It's still sinking in.
Then came Omega Nebula, a husband/wife Dubby Dubby Duo who were just incredible and proved my love for dub. Nothing but positive, uplifting energy and heavy dub basslines, merged with more modern dubstep sounds! It was wicked stuff and it's a shame I couldn't stay longer (the taxi arrived :<). Check! Them! OUT!!!
So, about the Music Hub... after an unfortunate chain of events, I was in limbo for a good while. But then this place popped up on my mum's Facebook for a place in Haverhill. I had a visit there, and he saw lots of potential in me, and was especially blown away by my perfect pitch! Since then, I've been visiting every Thursday, assisting with the mixing and production process as a sort of "partnership".
This is everything I hoped for back in 2022 (Vertical Rooms didn't work out in the end), and it also turns out that we get on extremely well, constantly bouncing off each other! I've even witnessed a live band recording in the studio. It's been awesome, and after an awful April, it feels like things are picking up again!
Finally, here's a picture of myself and Angie Brown, who's signing a piece of paper for all of us :D
(also, my associations with the "record label" have ended due to concerns from mum about him profiting off my work and not crediting me or letting anyone know where they can find me, amongst other issues...)
Update video!
3rd February 2024
First update of the year! Since the hiatus, I've brought back the Atari and the S2800 (the screen is bearable), and it's been an absolute dream to work with. The Atari is equipped with a TruMouse adapter, which means I can use any USB mouse with the Atari - just fantastic! The Mac probably won't be coming Bac, there's too much wrong with it (countless crashes, all the software has some kind of issues, takes forever to start up, too many distractions, etc.)
Regarding the remix project, after hearing nothing for half a year, the album is due to be released... but I never made anything. I was promised involvement but was let down again. Isn't that lovely?
Anyway, in other news, I've posted a fun little mix of songs by DJ Dub Rush (who's become somewhat of an inside meme). He's one of my favourite Jungle producers, so I thought I'd record a mix of his tunes. It's the first one that I've done in half a year, and it can be viewed by clicking the DuB Logo™ below, yo. But prepare yourself for the DuB (bbbbbbb) dubby dub dub.
Furthermore, an update video is due to be uploaded, so look out for that! Myself and the family are looking at things differently this year, so I'll only release something if there's enough interest! Your support is appreciated!
7th October 2023
I'm having a musical hiatus! For the past few months, I've been focused on other things that I'm more passionate about. However, I'll always have a strong love for music overall!
I'm still working on the album with Dodie (we're very close now), but I've heard nothing about the remix project! My current projects include my main website and an Amiga module player, so if you love .mod files like me, check it out!
31st July 2023
This month has been amazing! Lots of exciting things have happened which may seem minor, but are actually a huge deal to me! Let's go through them one by one, shall we...
First of all, a confession. I was looking through my back catalogue of YouTube videos, and after deciding how much pressure it was, I decided to abandon my channel. At the time it felt like too much for me. However, since I started getting back into hardware, I made the first (albeit cheesy) song I've made in ages! I was so proud, that I decided to upload it. Even better, it was the 6 year anniversary of my channel, so there was no better time. And thus, I'm starting to upload just like I used to!
Secondly, I've been getting quite prolific and experimental! This month, I managed to fill up an entire 94-minute tape with new material, sounds and jams. Yes, I'm still using DAT (Keith, you have a lot to answer for). I've opened another tape, and I'm beginning to fill it up with more fun experiments. This new setup has made music fun again!
Thirdly, with the new setup going so well, I was inspired to release a new EP! It has "Out Of Time" which is extremely cheesy but inspired me to make music again, "Rumination" which is the obligatory "emo" track, the pure insanity of "Archipelago" with its syncopated reversed breaks, and "Zizzi's Paradise", a breakbeat mashup of some hip-hop songs with... ziziiiiiiiii, HAHAHAHA!!! (it'll make sense when you hear it)
Finally, I've got a new album in the works with Dodie, containing some very special material. I won't give too much information, but we're really close now; he was kind enough to find an illustrator for the artwork who does awesome abstract art, we're just waiting to hear back! Also, he created a Discogs profile which I promised to fill in... and 6 months later, I've finally done it (procrastination rules, uhhhuhuh). Check it out here! I feel like I've immortalized myself...
As a little side note, I may also have a remix project coming up! More will be revealed shortly...
7th July 2023
I was hoping that June would be the month of System10; I had a bunch of albums planned, and even a YouTube upload planned... but the month didn't go as we expected. I was in a sort of "creative limbo", the mouse for my Atari broke, and then the screen in my S2800 decided to pack up. You might think "it's just a screen, you can still read it", but not when it's flickering so much that lines are going through it, it just... no.
In light of June, I decided to make a fresh start, for a new era of System10. No pressure to upload stuff, a completely re-arranged setup, and just bringing back the fun in making music. Until now, it wasn't fun anymore, and the last hardware tune I made was 4 months ago. But this week, I've already made 2 songs, so things are going to plan!
There've been some new additions to the family too! Because my S2800 was driving me insane and I have no way of fixing it, I thought it would be cheaper to get another sampler. So I reunited with my first sampler ever, the S2000! Bargain of the Year Alert: it was £45! Then of course, I got a square monitor for my Mac, which looks fabulous.
The other new addition is my first full-size MIDI keyboard! It was a parting gift from a very old friend of mine, who was sadly leaving his company. He basically founded the place, and we've known each other since it opened back in 2013, so this keyboard means a lot to me.
Finally, the Absoleaut Beaut that is the TD-3! When I went to school, I used to have Acid jams with my form tutor, who's an electronic music nut like myself. He'd bring in his TB-03 and we'd jam, with a Chromebook supplying the drums, all going into a puny Akai speaker! If you're interested, these jams are available here!
I wanted to bring that acid goodness to my studio, so I thought it was time to invest in a TD-3, and not only is it my first synth, it's soooo much fun to use, it sounds incredible, and it's BLUE! So, expect to hear some acid-infused breaks in the future!
7th June 2023
It's half 1 in the morning, and I've just finished overhauling my website. It was really hard to maintain before, but it's a lot easier now, and I made the design "slicker"!
14th May 2023
I've reached a huge milestone on my YouTube channel: 200 subscribers! That's such a wild thought to me, because I only started the channel as a way of sharing random loops, and I never thought it'd become so big. Huge thanks to every single one of my subscribers, your support means the world to me, and I've got something very special cooking! Stay tuned!
6th May 2023
I'm quite staggered by the reception on my latest YouTube video! There was quite a gap from my previous video, so I wasn't expecting much, but it's nearly at 1,000 views, which is just astonishing and a great honour. Unfortunately, I now feel like I have to perfect the next videos I upload, in case they get similar amounts of views. It puts me under pressure, and uploading to YouTube is already bad enough.
All further releases will be on Bandcamp, and I have 3 different albums planned (yes, 3!), all with their own different theme. It'll contain less hardware and more software, because I've lacked motivation, and my mind goes wild when using software! If I build up enough confidence, I'll start uploading to YouTube again. Let's see...
19th December 2022
Hugobongous news! I've finally released my very first album on a record label, LaMirage Records, who specialize in all sorts of leftfield music. The album is called "Creative Thinkers" and consists of 6 tracks I made over the course of just 3 days. You can find it on all major streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, as well as the label's official Bandcamp. I never expected to be on any of those platforms, so I'm honoured. Also, the owner of the label is super nice, and he's the one who wanted to get my stuff heard in the first place, so tons of respect to him. We'll have another album scheduled for release soon, so keep those eyes peeled!
17th October 2022
Huge news! I've released my debut album "Eclipse", 3 years in the making. Never in a thousand years did I think I'd release an album, let alone anything, but here we are! It's on Bandcamp, so you can preview the tracks before buying, and name your own price if you desire. You can also buy tracks individually if you like one in particular. If you're feeling especially nice, you can buy a personally handmade copy of the album on CD; any bit of support counts, even if it just means listening to some tracks! Click here to visit the album page!
24th September 2022
I've gained access to an exclusive podcast done by Bizzy B, where he chats to the elusive Pugwash, who he produced many tunes with back in the day! Click here to listen! It's truly exciting!
22nd September 2022
I legally became an adult today! It was absolutely amazing, plenty of family time was spent, and I had the greatest day of my life. I was lucky enough to not get any orders for my album, and because I'm 18, I can now legally own a PayPal account, so you can order directly from me!
29th August 2022
I've finally started selling my music, and an album is already available to buy. Check the shop to find out more!
System10 in the news!
12th August 2022
The filming went amazingly well! We actually kept the interviewer/camera operator round for longer than expected, we made her welcome and she probably isn't used to seeing stories of much interest (past "man grows flower"). However, due to the filming taking 4 hours, and another more important story having to be edited at the last minute, it will instead be showing on Monday 14th August.
9th August 2022
I will be appearing on the Anglia News at roughly 6pm on Friday 12th August, for the first time in almost 15 years! Yes, I was 3 when I last appeared. I'll be interviewed in my Man Cave about how my confidence has improved, and I'll also be inside Vertical Rooms alongside Pete Brazier, the owner of that studio! I'm extremely excited, and still taking this all in!
8th August 2022
I've appeared in the Ely Standard! The article talks about Noise Solution, who helped my confidence hugely, and are responsible for introducing me to Vertical Rooms, who I've had associations with for a while! Click here to read the article!
